Bài tập VI VT - Transitive and Intransitive verbs
Hầu như sách giáo khoa Tiếng Anh của Việt Nam từ lớp 6 đến gần cuối lớp 12 đều có ngữ pháp passive voice - câu bị động, nhưng hoàn toàn không dạy cho học sinh biết;
- Một động từ tiếng Anh là v.i hay v.t? - điều kiện cần để có thể biết câu đó có thể đổi qua câu bị động hay không?
- Cũng như không dạy; khi làm đề trắc nghiệm, làm sao học sinh biết một câu nào đó học sinh phải chọn câu bị động.
Sau đây là một vài bài tập giúp học sinh xác định động từ nào là transitive verbs (V.T)? và động từ nào là Intransitive verbs (V.I)? Ngoài ra, bài tập cũng giúp học sinh xác định đúng động từ chính trong một câu tiếng Anh, để khi học sinh đổi một câu sang bị động có thể xác định đúng các thành phần của câu đó.
Exercise 1: Decide whether the verbs in bold are transitive or intransitive
1. She was crying all day long.
2. We showed her the photo album.
3. The doctor advised me to exercise regularly.
4. It was raining at that time.
5. She laughed at the joke.
6. She gave a cookie to the child.
7. They slept in the street.
8. I ate the cherries.
9. My father doesn't drink coffee.
10. He always keeps his money in a wallet.
11. I worked all night.
12. He gave the book to the teacher.
13. They laughed at the joke.
14. She slept for eight hours.
15. We lived in Mexico for two years.
